Why BrightHR teams bring in HRBench

  • BrightHR reporting is manual. Reports cover three types, employees, absence, and documents, and you build each one by choosing fields and exporting the result. BrightHR even publishes a guide on calculating your staff turnover rate by hand. HRBench delivers turnover, retention, and absence rate already calculated, and they refresh on their own.
  • Your numbers have no outside reference point. BrightHR shows your own absence and turnover figures with nothing to compare them against. HRBench benchmarks your workforce metrics against similar companies, included for every customer, so you can tell whether a figure is normal or a problem.
  • BrightHR reports look back. They describe what already happened. HRBench adds 25+ predictive metrics, like turnover risk, so you can act before someone leaves.
  • The data sits in separate screens. BrightHR captures people records, absence, and Blip clock-in hours, but each lives in its own module. HRBench joins them into headcount, absence, tenure, and attendance trends across every team and site.

What a BrightHR shop builds with HRBench

  • Turnover and retention: joiners, leavers, turnover rate, and tenure by team and site, from your BrightHR employee records instead of a hand calculation.
  • Absence and lateness: absence rate, Bradford Factor, and lateness patterns by team, site, and season, from BrightHR absence records.
  • Attendance and worked hours: hours worked, clock-in patterns, and coverage across sites from Blip data. Because BrightHR does not hold pay, these are hour and attendance metrics, not labor cost.
  • Headcount and org structure: headcount by team, site, and manager, plus how it moves over time.
  • Engagement paired with behavior: engagement surveys are included for every HRBench customer, so you can connect how people feel to absence, tenure, and turnover.
  • Benchmarks: see how your absence and turnover compare to similar companies, so every number has context.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't find the information you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact us directly, and our team will be happy to assist you.

01

Does HRBench integrate with BrightHR?

Yes. HRBench connects to BrightHR and reads your people, absence, and attendance data, then turns it into ready-made workforce metrics. You get turnover, absence, and headcount analytics without building reports or exporting to a spreadsheet.

02

What BrightHR data does HRBench read?

HRBench reads employee and employment records (names, job titles, teams, sites, start dates, and reporting lines), your organization structure, absence and time-off records, and Blip clock-in and clock-out data. It does not read pay or payroll, benefits, or dependents, because BrightHR does not hold that data in its HR product. Recruitment data is not included.

03

What can HRBench measure from BrightHR data?

HRBench builds 45+ metrics from BrightHR data: turnover and retention rates, headcount and growth by team and site, absence rate and Bradford Factor, lateness and attendance patterns, tenure, and length of service. Figures you would otherwise work out by hand update on their own.

04

Does HRBench replace BrightHR reporting?

No. HRBench sits on top of BrightHR. BrightHR stays your system of record for people, absence, and clocking. HRBench reads that data and produces the workforce metrics, benchmarks, and predictive insights BrightHR's built-in reports do not.

05

Does HRBench work with Blip and the BrightHR mobile app?

Yes. HRBench reads Blip clock-in, clock-out, and break data alongside your core BrightHR records, so attendance and worked hours feed the same metrics as absence and headcount.

06

Can HRBench track absence and worked hours across multiple sites?

Yes. For shift-based, multi-location teams, HRBench turns BrightHR absence records and Blip clock-in data into absence rate, Bradford Factor, lateness, and hours-worked patterns by team and site. Because BrightHR does not hold pay, these are hour and attendance metrics, not labor cost. Cost per employee needs a payroll or accounting connection.

07

Can HRBench show how our BrightHR numbers compare to other companies?

Yes. BrightHR shows your own numbers with no outside reference point. HRBench benchmarks your absence, turnover, and headcount against similar companies, included for every customer, so you can see whether a figure is normal or worth acting on.

08

Does HRBench include engagement surveys with BrightHR data?

Yes. Engagement surveys are included for every HRBench customer. You can pair how people feel with what they do, connecting engagement scores to absence, tenure, and turnover from BrightHR, which BrightHR's reports cannot do on their own.

09

How long does it take to connect BrightHR to HRBench?

Most BrightHR connections are live in about 4 to 6 weeks, and smaller teams are often faster. Setup covers connecting BrightHR, mapping your teams and sites, and configuring the metrics and benchmarks you want.
